What’s your background, Shira?

I have a psychology background (BS, human development, Cornell University; MSW, New York University. I started out writing brochures and newsletters for Citytrust’s employee relations department. After leaving Citytrust, I formed PromoWriting.

You will enjoy the benefit of my 20+ years of experience delighting clients with copy and creative that = results. You will be working with an award-winning copywriter who was named a “copywriting genius” By Monthly Copywriting Genius, a newsletter that helps junior writers learn from the pros.

I was a featured speaker at the Folio Show, CM Show, DM Days New York and McMillen Communications and led workshops for Hearst Magazines and Reader’s Digest. I also served on the board of the Hudson Valley Direct Marketing Association.

Tell me about your copywriting experience.

I’ve written copy for well-known clients, including American Express Publishing…Fetchdog…and Friends of Animals.  My specialty is concepts and creative for integrated marketing campaigns involving direct mail, personal URLs, landing pages, email promotions, postcards, sales letters, contests and giveaways.

My experience also includes multi-piece direct mail packages, sweepstakes and email subscription renewal series. My strengths include ads, advertorials, brochures, catalogs and sell sheets. Web copy and content, free standing inserts and radio commercial scripts. Articles, press releases and media kits.

I excel at naming new brands, new product launches/positioning and headline and tagline brainstorms. I also excel at magazine subscription promotions, membership marketing, fundraising campaigns and trade show creative packages.

If your product or service lends itself to a light-hearted treatment, you will like my humorous approach, particularly for radio commercial scripts and jingles. Most of my work is repeat business with satisfied clients.

What are your other credits?

My articles were published in DM News (ghostwritten), Catalog Age, Target Marketing Tipline, Subscription Marketing, CM, The Circulator, and Folio. My bi-monthly column Product Preview appeared in Catalog Age as well. I was quoted in Inside Direct Mail and CM.

Do you have experience in my industry?

Whether it’s food & beverages, wine & spirits, health & beauty, travel & leisure, banking & financial services, pet products, publishing, collectibles, fundraising, sports or a host of others, chances are I’ve written for your industry or an allied industry. In any case, I’ll find the right words to get the word out about your product or service.

What types of assignments do you handle?

I cover the full range – print, web, radio for both agencies and clients. Most of my business involves partnering with creative directors and taking campaigns from concept to completion. In fact, my concepts are so well-received, clients typically find it difficult to choose from the many ideas presented – and often implement more than one.

Whether your assignment entails copy only or copy and design through final production, you can always call or email me directly.

How much does it cost to hire you for an assignment?

Since each project is so individualized, I’ll ask you some questions to assess the parameters of your project and give you a firm quote.

How long will it take you to complete my project?

How soon do you need it? I’d like the luxury of a week or two, to write and revise until I’m satisfied with every word. But if you have a rush request, I can do a terrific job on your copy in just two or three days.

When I take on your assignment, I’ll have the copy to you when promised. I’ve never missed a deadline, and I have no intention of starting now! Rush job or not, the copy will meet your specifications. Count on it!

What if revisions are required?

Just tell me what you’d like to change and I’ll make the revisions you request – immediately. I offer a 100% satisfaction guarantee. That means, if you are not happy with the copy as recommended, I will work with you until you are satisfied. Revisions are usually free, provided they are assigned within 30 days of receipt of copy, and are not based on changes in the assignment made after the copy is submitted.

I’m confident that you will be more than pleased with the copy you receive. But if you are not 100% satisfied, I’ll rework the copy until you are – usually at no cost to you.

How do we begin?

Getting started is easy. Just call 203 371-0654 and tell me what you’d like to accomplish. We’ll go on to discuss the specifics about the project you have in mind. I’ll prepare a quote outlining the project parameters, time frame and terms. Once you give me the go-ahead, I’ll get started on your assignment, and deliver persuasive copy on or before the deadline, as promised.
